Costume and Make-up Information
Costumes
- Unless otherwise noted, everyone in the cast will need black Jazz shoes or all black sneakers and no show socks.
- All girls will need to have a skin colored or nude colored leotard or a light colored cami with dance shorts to wear under their costumes. (The leotards can be purchased at any store that sells dance wear.) This allows the girls to be able to change costumes quickly among a large group of cast members (male and female). Dance shorts are not necessary with a cami if your child is wearing black leggings.
- All boys should wear lightweight, light-colored athletic shorts under their costumes for changing purposes.
- We also strongly recommend that each cast member bring a labeled laundry basket or some other large tote to each tech rehearsal and show. This is an easy way to store and keep track of all of their make-up, hair supplies, costumes pieces and outside clothes.

All cast members need Make-Up--including the boys. You will need to apply more than "everyday makeup" as the stage lights will wash you out some. Please, no over the top applications unless instructed by the production team! Any additional specialty character make-up will be applied at the school by our make-up personnel.
Below is a list of all the makeup you will need. Please note that you should choose a foundation that is one shade darker than your actual skin color because of the stage lighting. You are welcome to use make-up that you have from past productions, however, for hygienic reasons, we recommend that you buy new eye liner and mascara if you have had it over three months.
Everyone should arrive to dress rehearsal and the shows with hair and make-up already done. However, please bring your make-up with you in case touch-ups are needed.
All cast members should wear:
- Foundation
- Blush
- Eye Shadow (Neutral Colors)
- Eye Liner (Black or Brown)
- Mascara (Black or Brown)
- Lipstick ("Garnet" or similar color.) No pale pinks or bright reds.
- Make-Up Remover Wipes
